• 2nd Gen. Development underway
• Elevation of new orchard will from 600 to 1400 meters
• Spruce seed from the original orchard is available on SPAR
• Begin planting the 2nd Gen orchard in the spring of 2010
• Expected first production in 2016
• G.W. % will increase into the low to mid 30%

#211 - Prince George Low - Weevil Tolerance -

• All families in the orchard have demonstrated in out planting sites, a tolerance to weevil attack when other trees in the same test site have suffered varying losses. This is a calculated tolerance that will give a site its best chance to survive the weevil attack.
• Elevation of production - up to 1400 meters
• High Elevation Potential - No high elevation seedlots will come from this orchard.
• Genetic Worth Potential - up to 25%
• Seedlots available will have good but varying germination rates. Choose the seedlot that best suits your nursery and your sowing strategy.

#239 - Prince George High Elevations

• Most orchard trees are selected from parents over the 1100 meter elevation. This orchard when it comes into production around 2010 will allow seedling movement up to 1550 meters.
